Be Healthy

We live in a world that is always busy.  We have school, families, and jobs.  We never seem to have enough time. We are always looking for the next best thing. We want the best cars, the best houses, and the best clothes. We want everything. While striving for everything, we forget to focus on the most important thing ,our health.

Pretty much anything that requires us to move has been replaced with something “easier”.

Playing outside has been replaced with playing video games

Home-cooked meals has been replaced with “happy” meals.

Making real friends has been replaced with Facebook.

Even I admit to having a nervous breakdown about losing the remote. The television was only five feet away.

I could have easily gotten up and changed the channel but I didn’t.

I didn’t because I have been taught to take the easier route even if it is bad for my health.

I have also been taught to worry about my body because others are looking.

This is not right.

You should not take the easier route .

You should not work out to impress others.

You should the take route that is best for you even if it is harder.

Stay healthy by drinking water, cooking your own meals, taking walks, and visiting gyms.

Don’t be lazy.

Don’t work out for others.

Work out for you.

Be healthy and remember,

“The first wealth is health”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. mabets says:

Having a dog will help you to keep a healthy walking habit, 5 to 10 minutes, 3 times a day or similar. Helps you and makes them happy.

  2. it really is the first wealth. Without our health everything becomes impossible. You are definitely on the right track, thanks for the healthy reminder.

  3. Selma says:

You are absolutely right and this philosophy really holds true the older you get. I am in my mid-forties and do pilates and walk a lot. If I don’t exercise my joints start to ache and I feel sluggish and tired. Our good health is one of the most precious things we have!

  4. i have been dealing with some chronic illnesses for the past 2 years and have never exercised really since i was in grade school. i’ve just now decided to trash the excuses and get my butt to the gym and it’s amazing the difference already i feel in my health! you’re so right about how our society is these days with promoting laziness. love the Emerson quote!
