Moving Forward

This is the time of year when we are flooded with broken promises and stories about unreachable dreams. Well, at least that is what the world says and in some cases they may be right. New Year’s is a day when tons of people declare life changing goals for their future.  While it may be true that many do not fulfill these goals, many people do.  I believe that people focus on the negative because they are too afraid to focus on the positive.  I see nothing wrong with New Year’s resolutions and actually applaud them. Admitting that you need change is better than completely ignoring your faults. As a matter of fact, I write a list of goals for myself twice a year for renewal and reflection.

Here’s a list of some of things that I would like to work on in 2012.

1. Stay focused. I distract myself whenever I am doing something positive because I do not want to fail. In order to combat this fear, I will use methods that push me through my doubt and towards success.

2. Take more risks. I have been trying to make other people happy my entire life. It’s time for me to be happy. I dropped both Biology and Psychology as majors to focus on Journalism. Now, I would like to relocate and I will certainly find a way.

3. Be more open. One of the things that 2011 has taught me is that there are always new things to learn. Instead of going of off things that I have been taught; I intend to learn on my own through research and dedication.

4.Be more confident. I feel as if I need to be more confident with who I am. I am constantly looking for approval from others when the only approval I need is my own. This will be my biggest challenge this year.  I will work hard to trust myself and ignore my doubts. My success will be my reward.

5. I would love for RespectedLife to grow. I will publish at least 3 articles a day.  I will try to publicize it more through social networking and by word of mouth, but I need your help. Please follow us on twitter on @RespectedLife. Invite your friends to subscribe, Stumble or Digg our posts, and donate if you can. Your help is greatly appreciated.

But, enough about me and my resolutions, Tell me about yours.
